Meet The Dentists

Mark S. Jensen, DDS

Dr. Mark Jensen graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Kansas in 1984. He then continued on to the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with distinction in 1988. Following graduation, Dr.Jensen completed a three-year general practice residency with the United States Navy Dental Corps. During this rewarding and challenging time, he worked primarily with Marines in the First Gulf War. He learned many of the skills he now uses every day by working with some of the finest clinicians anywhere.

After completing his residency, Dr. Jensen moved back to Kansas City, his hometown. In 1992, he purchased this practice from a retiring doctor and developed the theme of “Together, Dental Health for Life.” While Dr. Jensen has practiced dentistry in the area for more than 20 years (and his practice has grown tremendously), he has never lost sight of what has led to every success he has had—caring for his patients as best as possible.

Dr. Jensen has extensive training in several areas of dental care, including cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery. He also continues his education in dentistry on a regular basis, maintaining all of the required continuing education for accreditation with the State of Kansas Dental Board. In addition, Dr. Jensen is a member of the American Dental Association®, Kansas Dental Association and Fifth District Dental Society of the State of Kansas. Furthermore, his practice is accredited by the Better Business Bureau of Greater Kansas City.

Sangki Yang, DDS

Dr. Yang is a very talented dentist who loves his patients and staff.  He treats each patient like a person and not a number. He always believes in doing what's right for patients and loves seeing patients out of pain.

Dr. Sangki Yang earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology from UMKC, then he received his doctorate of Dental Surgery from the UMKC School of Dentistry in 2018. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and American Dental association, and he continuously seeks out continuing education and professional development for the best care of his patients. 

Dr. Yang has a special interest in oral surgery and he is an implant certified surgeon with perfectionism and detail oriented personalities that allow him to deliver the highest standard care of dentistry. When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Yang spends most of his free time with his wife and cat. He also enjoys traveling and playing golf.

Luke Ristow, DDS

Luke Ristow, DDS, says, “having the opportunity to get to know my patients and help them create or maintain a confident, healthy smile is the best part of my job.” Dr. Ristow joins Mint Dental as a general dentist and will provide patients with comprehensive dental care, creating treatment plans that are tailored to their individual wants and needs. 

Originally from Columbia, MO, Dr. Ristow earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry and has spent the past three years practicing in the Kansas City area. His own dental experiences as a child inspired him to go into the profession. “When I was 12, I had a gap between my two front teeth that a crayon could fit through. It was affecting my speech, and my lisp only went away after orthodontic treatment helped me close it. I remember the feeling of getting my braces taken off quite well,” said Ristow. “My speech improved immediately and my confidence shot through the roof. It was truly a life-changing event.” He hopes to be able to make a similar impact on his patients and the Lee’s Summit community.

When he’s not serving patients, Dr. Ristow enjoys balancing his time between staying active outdoors, relaxing with family and friends, or enjoying a good book or TV show. Dr. Ristow and his spouse, Kaylee, currently reside in Prairie Village, KS.

Dillon Trinh, DDS

Dr. Dillon Trinh is a dedicated  general dentist with advanced training in comprehensive and surgical dental care. Originally from Fort Smith, Arkansas, Dr. Trinh began his academic career at the University of Arkansas, where he earned a degree in mathematics while completing his pre-dental studies. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry.

Following dental school, Dr. Trinh was selected for an intensive one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks. This postdoctoral program provided Dr. Trinh with advanced clinical experience in treating both medically compromised and medically complex patients. His training emphasized diagnosis and management of oral and maxillofacial diseases, comprehensive treatment planning, and integration of patients' overall health with their dental care.

During his residency, Dr. Trinh gained advanced skills in a full range of dental specialties—including oral surgery, implants, periodontics, prosthodontics, restorative dentistry, endodontics, and anesthesia. Additionally, he received hands-on didactic training through seminars, rotations in anesthesia, oral surgery, and periodontics, and advanced cardiac life support certification. He provided comprehensive care alongside general dentists, specialists, hygienists, and laboratory technicians.

In his free time, Dr. Trinh enjoys playing video games, cooking at home, singing karaoke, and spending time with his Shiba Inu, Jasper.
